Mainstream Housing for Persons with Disabilities
At this time we are no accepting applications for Main Stream Housing.

What is Project Mainstream Housing for Persons with Disabilities?

This program allows for non-elderly persons or families with disabilities to receive a Section 8 voucher and live in an apartment or house suitable to their needs.

How Does it Work?
The disabled person receives a voucher and finds an apartment or house that qualifies under Section 8 programs. The resident pays 30% of their income as rent to the landlord. The JCHA pays the difference between tenants portion and the contract rent in the form of a check directly to the landlord.

A non-elderly disabled person and/or family may apply at JCHA's office at any time.
